If you're an artist or other creative type who lives in the Greater Fitchburg area, save the date of Thursday, May 3, for a Creatives Meet & Greet at Fitchburg Art Museum, 185 Elm St.

Hosted by the Fitchburg Cultural Council, the gathering, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m., includes light refreshments, networking with other creatives, input and feedback, and an opportunity to get to know council members.

"We need artists and creatives in Fitchburg and surrounding areas to advise the council about how we can better serve your needs and help your creative practice grow," the council said in a statement.

They are seeking feedback about how best the Cultural Council can support creative work. They also want to hear about the kind of art-business workshops creatives need and the kinds of arts programming folks want to see in Fitchburg.

"We look forward to meeting you, learning about your practice and listening to your ideas for the future of Fitchburg's Creative Community," they note in their invitation.

The monthly open meeting will precede the creative input portion of the evening.

The Fitchburg CC is part of a network of 329 local cultural councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the state.

The state Legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
