LOWELL -- Wael Kamal, an award-winning Egyptian photographer, is currently a visiting professor at UMass Lowell and also serving as interim director of the school's journalism and media studies program.

He is now sharing his talents in a joint exhibit with UML art student Duy Hoang entitled Sound of Light: Photography and Sculpture from the Middle East and Massachusetts.

On view from Monday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 15, in Dugan Gallery, Dugan Hall, South Campus, 883 Broadway St., the exhibit is sponsored by the university's Middle East Center for Peace, Development and Culture.

An artists' reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, at noon. Gallery hours are Mondays through Thursdays 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Fridays and evenings by appointment.
