LITTLETON -- Cannon Theatre offers a new look at the merry old Land of Oz in its latest show "Return to Oz."
The production, based on the second and third books by L. Frank Baum and adapted and with original music by Shawn Cannon, plays the theater on Littleton Common Jan. 23, 24, 30, 31 and Feb. 6, 7, at 7 p.m. A Jan. 31 matinee is sold out.
New adventures ensue as Dorothy and her friends -- the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Glinda -- reunite and try to rescue the Queen of Ev and her family, who are captured and held by the evil Nome King.
Besides that nasty Nome, new characters include Jack Pumpkinhead, Mombi, The Wogglebur, Tiktok, Ozma, General Jinjur and Billina.
The production features music, dance and fun adventures appropriate for the whole family.
