August is Textile Month in Lowell, with various galleries and museums showcasing all manner of quilts and fiber exhibits in America's original Mill City. Several are hosting receptions this Saturday.

It's "Fabrication of Imagination 2019" at the Arts League of Lowell's ALL Gallery on Market Street. Running through Sept. 15, with a reception Saturday, Aug. 10, 4-6 p.m., the show features 3-D fiber art or art that references fiber. Ayer Lofts Gallery on Middle Street features "Breaking the Surface: Creating Digital Fiber Art" by Wen Redmond, through Aug. 25. The gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays, noon-4 p.m.
