LOWELL -- The Lowell Greek Festival 2017 takes place this weekend, with the festivities starting Friday evening and ending Sunday night, at Hellenic American Academy, corner of Broadway and Worthen streets.
Friday's hours are 5 to 11 p.m., with live music; Saturday's are noon to 11 p.m., with live music and a DJ; and Sunday's, from noon to 6 p.m., with a DJ. And, of course, all three days will feature such Greek delicacies as souvlaki, gyros, pastichio, moussaka, Greek salad and pastries.
There will also be activities for the kids, a raffle for two round-trip tickets to Athens, 50/50 raffles all three days, drawings on Sunday for $500 and $300, and tours of Hellenic American Academy, the oldest Greek-American school in the country.
The festival is sponsored by the Holy Trinity Parish community.
