MERRIMACK, N.H. -- The sawdust will be flying come Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Anheuser-Busch Merrimack Brewery, when it hosts the Buschhhhh Lumberjack Championship.
Being a lumberjack is about more than just chopping wood -- it takes impressive skill and technique (no beard or plaid required).
Guests can witness more than 70 athletes, male and female, from the U.S. and Canada go head-to-head in 12 events, including ax-throwing, sawing and chopping. There will also be food trucks and brews for spectators to enjoy.
The event is sponsored by the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce and is open to guests of all ages. Tickets can be purchased at MerrimackChamber.org. Children 13 and younger can attend for free.
While at the brewery, guests can explore the art of brewing with a free tour or upgrade to one of the exclusive tour offerings, including private group tours and Beermaster tours. Each experience includes free beer samples for guests 21 and older. The gift shop will also be open for guests who would like to commemorate their experience.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Biergarten is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the gift shop's hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
