Did you know? Franti, 51, has been making music since 1986, forming Spearhead in 1994. He is quite politically active and is a vegan. He goes barefoot whenever possible. He s from San Francisco. Born to a black and Native American father and a white mother, he was adopted by a white couple in Oakland.
His adopted father was a professor of epidemiology and preventive medicine at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Did you know? Before embarking on his solo country career, Gill joined country-rock band Pure Prairie League in 1979 and sang their only top-10 pop song, the cross-over hit Let Me Love You Tonight. He has sold more than 26 million albums and has more than 50 top-40 hits on the country and pop charts.
Though known for his singing, he is an accomplished guitarist and was invited by Eric Clapton to take part in his Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2007. He was also once invited by Mark Knopfler to john Dire Straits, but he declined. He has won 21 Grammy Awards. Gill has been married to singer Amy Grant since 2000.
