He is best known for being half of one of the biggest rock duos of all time, but unlike his former partner, Art Garfunkel isn't leaving the road anytime soon.
In fact, the iconic Garfunkel is taking the road to Tupelo Music Hall in Derry on Nov. 15. Tickets are $70 and $65 and can be purchased at tickets.tupelohall.com.
The 77-year-old Garfunkel (he celebrated his birthday earlier this week) has carved out an impressive solo career alongside his work with Paul Simon. Garfunkel's solo career includes a top 10 hit ("All I Know"), three top 20 hits ("I Only Have Eyes for You", "My Little Town" and "Wonderful World"), six top 40 hits, eight Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award and his induction with Simon in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It's his work with Simon, of course, for which Garfunkel is best known. Their voices blend together effortlessly on "Mrs. Robinson," "The Sound of Silence," "The Boxer" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
If you're wondering what he plays live, don't worry. He plays plenty of Simon & Garfunkel, including "The Boxer" "Scarborough Fair" "Homeward Bound" "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "The Sound of Silence."
Don't expect a reunion with Simon at this point, though we still hold out hope that they'll agree to put aside their longstanding differences for a one-night-only farewell concert.
This is your best chance to hear Garfunkel in an intimate venue a short drive from Lowell. Don't miss out.
