Northern Essex Community College students are taking the stage in a series of holiday shows.

The college's Jazz Rock Ensemble, under the direction of NECC music professor Michael Lecuyer, will present its winter concert on Thursday, Dec. 8, 6:30 p.m., in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St. This event is free and open to the public.

A student choreographed dance piece that explores the concepts of birth and death will be showcased during NECC's Performing Arts Department's holiday recital titled "Variations: A Student Dance Performance" on Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m., at Pentucket Regional High School, 24 Main St., West Newbury. Tickets are $ 8 adults, $6 students & seniors, $4 children under 12 and will be sold at the door.

Northern Essex Community College's chamber ensemble under the direction of Christina Dietrich and Ingrid Marstaller, assistant director, will present a holiday concert Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, featuring the works of Bach, Mozart, Pachelbel and Cohen. This event is free and open to the public.
