CHELMSFORD -- Chelmsford High School will host ACA-POCALYPSE, a two-day a cappella event, on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at CHS's Carl J. Rondina Performing Arts Center.

The event will feature several a cappella groups from throughout the Boston area, including CHS's two award-winning a cappella groups, The Crescendos and The Thursdays, both of which will play both days.

The fun begins March 22 and 7:30 p.m., with performances by Northeastern University's Distilled Harmony, which was a semifinalist in the 2018 International Championship of College A Cappella, in addition to the CHS groups.

On March 23, starting at 7, the CHS bands again perform with headliner, the Nor'Easters, winner of the ICCA 2017 event.

The NU groups aren't the only award winners, though. The Crescendos and The Thursdays both advanced to the semifinal round of the International Championship of High School A Cappella while earning individual awards in arranging, choreography, and vocal percussion. Also, The Thursdays have twice represented the Northeast region in the ICHSA finals and were a winning group on season 4 of "Sing That Thing!" on WGBH.

The weekend will also feature master classes and workshops.

Tickets for ACA-POCALYPSE are $10 for students and seniors, $20 for adults at the door, but can be purchased in advance with early-bird discounts at https://chelmsfordacappella.org.
