CHELMSFORD -- The Chelmsford Friends of the Library will hold a special spring book sale Friday and Saturday in the gym at the town offices at 50 Billerica Road.
The sale will feature fiction, children's and teen books, and will be open Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone interested in helping to organize books ahead of the sale can come Thursday between 3-8 p.m. to volunteer.

Candidates night in Westford
WESTFORD -- The League of Women Voters of Westford will host a candidates' night on Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in the Avis Hooper Room at the Roudenbush Community Center, 65 Main St. All candidates on the May 7 town election ballot have been invited. Elections are being held for Selectmen, Board of Health, Housing Authority, Library Trustees, Planning Board and School Committee. Heather McNeil of the League of Women Voters of Andover-North Andover will moderate.
Questions can be submitted online before to the event at lwv.westford.org. Candidates' night will be simulcast on WestfordCAT government channel Comcast 9/Verizon 34. It will be rebroadcast, and be available on demand at westfordcat.org. The league's annual Voters' Guide will be available at
HARVARD -- The 36th annual Great Food Walk will take place on April 19 with its featured 5-mile loop starting at the Harvard Common from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The walk is raising money for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and Sharing, Inc.
Participants can walk alone or with family and friends to enjoy the scenic views of the path, including the Fruitlands Museum, Mount Wachusett and the Monadnock region. Last year's event featured 122 participants raising over $19,000. Those interested can register to walk or sponsor a walker at the Congregational Church of Harvard at 5 Still River Road.
LOWELL -- The 104th Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide will be held Saturday, April 20 at City Hall. A procession, led by the Armenian-American Veterans Honor Guard, will gather at the corner of Merrimack and John streets at 9:30 a.m. and make its way to City Hall for the 10 a.m. raising of the Armenian flag. The event is sponsored by the Armenian National Committee of Merrimack Valley with the participation of Merrimack Valley Armenian churches and organizations.
CHELMSFORD -- The Bob Drinkwater Band will be the featured musical entertainment at the Senior Center monthly dance Saturday from 7-10 p.m. The dance is being held a week earlier than usual due to Easter being observed the following weekend.
